Home Owner Association Pool Deck Renovation
Santa Clarita, CA
The community pool deck was initially a bare concrete surface plagued with aesthetic and functional issues. Stains that could not be removed, cracks with rust bleeding to the surface, and uneven areas posed safety risks for barefoot traffic in the wet pool environment.
Stained and Cracked Concrete: Persistent stains and visible rust from underlying rebar compromised the appearance and integrity of the deck.
Safety Concerns: Uneven surfaces and sharp edges increased the risk of injury, making the deck unsuitable for a pool environment.
Preparation and Repair: The concrete was thoroughly cleaned to ensure proper adhesion of the new surface. Cracks and spalled areas were treated to restore structural integrity.
Protective Overlay Coating: WICR applied the Multicoat Krete Kote system, which included an overlay that not only enhanced the deck’s durability but also improved its aesthetic appeal.
Finish and Sealing: A knock-down texture finish was applied, offering additional slip resistance crucial for safety around the pool. The project was completed with a colored UV stable sealer to ensure long-lasting protection and color retention.
The renovation successfully transformed the pool deck into a safer, more appealing area for the community. The new surface is now better equipped to handle the challenges of a wet, high-traffic environment, ensuring durability and safety for residents enjoying the pool area.
