The concrete underlayment was cracked, and water was rising up through cracks under the entire deck surface. This is of particular concern, because water penetrating the concrete will leak through to the roof, causing damage to the structure that supports the massive weight of the Olympic-sized rooftop pool.

We acted quickly to remove the cracked, failing concrete layer, and install a state-of-the-art Dex-O-Tex waterproofing system which included a CPC membrane, Resistite texture coat and AJ-44 sealer.

We were under an intense deadline, because we were originally hired to resurface the pool deck in time for a big event that Equinox was having. That was before anyone realized that their deck was failing, so now we had to perform the demolition and repair, and install an entire new waterproofing system in the same time we were asked to just install a new surface. Our WICR crew worked around the clock to finish a few days before the big event.

Both WICR and Equinox are pleased with the results, and we are all certainly glad we caught the leaks in time.

<a
