The Historic Temple Lofts Building<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Temple Lofts in Long Beach was built in 1927, as a Masonic Temple in Greek Revival architecture. They were recently converted to luxury lofts, however, the walkways connected the 3 buildings on all 5 stories had waterproofing issues. The main issue is that there was no sloping, which is the process of constructing surfaces at a slight angle to lead water away from the building. The walkways in particular sloped toward the building and toward the center of the walkways, causing water to accumulate or ‘pond’. When ponding occurs, the water eventually breaks down and penetrates the waterproof membrane, causing leaking and damage.<\/p>\n

WICR Waterpoofing removed the old, peeling waterproof coating. We then resloped the walkways, prepped the surface, applied a knockdown texture, then a waterproof deck coating. We made sure to stagger the work on walkways, and use a fast-drying formula, so that residents would always have access to their condos. The results were excellent, and everyone was very happy.<\/p>\n
